Life In Color: BHS Contests
Barbershop choruses, and especially quartets, have a long history of coordinating their attire.
Perhaps almost as exciting as the chords they ring are the clothes they wear.
Barbershop choruses, and especially quartets, have a long history of coordinating their attire - usually fully matching - on stage and sometimes even off stage. To those outside of the community, this can be a curious tradition, however, dressing like your quartet mates brings an extra level of togetherness, which only adds to their blend and bond on stage. Plus, for some, it's a chance to go all out and have a little more fun.
Sometimes the outfits are tied to a theme, sometimes they are extended as props. Sometimes, they just have no reason at all. They are bright, bold, and worn with complete confidence. It's all part of the charm of the art form and we can't wait to see what the quartets come up with this year.
