Here are the things Michelle wants you to know about the festival:
I just returned from judging the Moscow Spring A cappella Festival. and oh my: 37 outdoor venues (all with full PA, stage, videographer,) 150 ish groups from Russia, US, Singapore, Italy, Germany, etc. All styles of groups (classical, R&B, jazz, etc.,) and SUBSTANTIAL monetary prize to the competition winners. THIS IS VERY COOL.

The official stats from the Festival's page are:
"Solo performers and vocal groups from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Georgia and Singapore --sing for Moscow residents and visitors at 38 street concert venues across city. The concert venues include Moscow's streets and squares, malls, train stations, and even rooftops and balconies.

From opera to folk, from jazz to beatboxing, from rock to traditional church music -- all styles and genres will be presented at the competition. The total prize fund of the Moscow Spring A Cappella Competition is $280,000.

There are three competition categories: - minor vocal groups (up to five people); - medium vocal groups (six people or more); - large groups and choirs (11 people or more). The first prize in each of the categories is $30,000. Second place wins $20,000, and third, $10,000. The overall 'Grand Prix' winner receives $100,000 regardless of category."
