Look Back: The Last Five ICCA Champions

Just over a week from now, a new ICCA Champion will emerge, to go down in the history book of a cappella success stories. This year is already set up for some history-making, as all of this year's finalists are not previous champions, although several of the groups have made it to the finals in the past.

While we wait to see who will win it all this year, let's look back at the five most recent winners:

2018: The SoCal Vocals

The 2018 Finals field was likely one of the most diverse talented group of performers yet. Throughout the entire show, it was anyone's game to win. And then the SoCal VoCals took the stage. It was competition perfection.

2017: The Nor'Easters

After several years of hype, this a cappella powerhouse reclaimed the title that they last won in 2013. Their legacy goes on, with many scholastic groups chasing the Nor'Easters' style in hopes of reaching the top.

2016: The TechTonics

With a visually stunning human bicycle, The TechTonics became the first-ever international winner, traveling all the way from the UK to win in NYC.

2015: The SoCal Vocals

2015 marked win number four for this storied group, previously winning in 2008, 2010, and 2012. At this point, it was beginning to look like a SoCal win was a foregone conclusion.

2014: Pitch Slapped

After bursting onto the competitive a cappella scene in 2010, Berklee's Pitch Slapped went on to a featured spot on The Sing-Off, then won their first championship in 2011. 2014 marked their second, and most recent, time at the top.
