The Contemporary A Cappella League (CAL), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports non-scholastic groups, announced today that new members are invited to register for membership for free through the end of 2018.

What is CAL?

CAL helps adults “form, join, and maintain contemporary a cappella singing groups, and to provide performing opportunities, education, motivation, and accolades.” With groups from across the U.S. and Canada, this growing network of groups committing to helping people sing beyond school and infuse a cappella music into their communities.

What’s included in a CAL membership?

• Private social media groups for idea exchange and networking 
• Free promotion of group events, music releases, and other news
• Retreats for leadership and full groups
• Touring network throughout U.S. and Canada
• Tested resources for starting and maintaining your group
• Free starter arrangements
• Eligibility for CAL-specific awards and nominations
• Special performance opportunities
• A seat on the CAL Senate, giving each group an equal representation to the Board of Directors

Why join?

Since the formation of the CAL network in 2007, there not only been increasing growth of the adult a cappella community, but also statistically higher stability for groups involved in the network. Many of the founding groups have survived for over a decade and continue to thrive despite the external pressures of adult life.

CAL groups have performed on main stages at many major festivals around the world and have successfully toured and performed outside of their hometown because of connections made through CAL. Membership includes singers of every level from professional to beginner, with resources available at all levels.
