Harmony Sweeps Finals: Groups From All Over Gather For An A Cappella Title

 By Micha Mokrani

This Saturday, FloVoice will be streaming the 24th Annual Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival! The showcase will take place at the Marin Center in San Rafael, CA, featuring seven groups from each of the regional competitions, competing for the title of national champions. The Finals will be hosted by last year’s champions, the Sound Exchange

Here are this year’s contenders:

The winners of the Los Angeles Regional was Business Casual. They competed last year, winning special awards for their original songs performed in Finals. We can’t wait to see what they come to Finals with this year!

The winners of the Bay Area Regional was Ro Sham Bo. They are well-known and well-loved by fans of vocal jazz in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Their lineup is packed with jazz and funk experience, and their repertoire is sure to impress. We are so jazzed to see them take the stage (pun intended)!

The winners of the Boston Regional was Soundoff. This is a Contemporary A Cappella League (CAL) member group that is bringing the largest lineup to the Finals stage this year, and they are also the group traveling the farthest for the competition! They perform a repertoire of soulful, modern pop music. We are excited to see this supergroup perform this weekend!

The winners of the Pacific Northwest Regional was 20/20, from the state of Washington. These folks got together after graduating from Central Washington University. We look forward to seeing them share their passion for music with the audience and all who tune it at home this Saturday night!

The winners of the New York Regional was Feedback. This is the smallest group competing in Finals this year, and they are traveling the second-farthest to compete on the Finals stage. Feedback’s members are professional studio singers who sing R&B and jazz as an ensemble. We can’t wait to see their set at Finals!

The winners of the Mid-Atlantic Regional was Up All Night Quartet. This group is the only barbershop competitor in Finals this year! They are associated with the Vienna-Falls Chorus in Virginia, Sweet Adeline’s International, and are also the Regional Champions of Heart is the Blue Ridge of Region 14! We love some barbershop at FloVoice, and we’re looking forward to this set!

And finally, the winners of the Chicago Regional was Due North. This group is a newer ensemble in the northern states, joining the Finals lineup from Minnesota, just like the reigning champions from last year. Check them out in their Harmony Sweepstakes Finals debut.

This is going to be a fantastic night of a cappella music! To learn more about Harmony Sweepstakes, check out their website

If you can’t make it to Marin Center in San Rafael for the show, tune into Flovoice this Saturday, May 19, at 8 PM Pacific Time to catch the show. See you there!
