Today marks 80 years since the founding of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and groups from across the country are finding creative ways to celebrate the landmark anniversary in their local communities.

Chicago Harmony Sweepstakes runners-up The Northsiders helped ring in Barbershop Quartet Day in Chicago with their appearance on the morning news show The Jam.

The Cherry Capital Men's Chorus from Traverse City, Michigan, which counts the Quad Pro Quo and Northern Exposure quartets among its members, talked about barbershop and sang for Sarah Grimmer on WWTV.


Seabreeze Quartet appeared on First Edition on KIIITV in South Texas.


Sweet Adelines quartet Love-N-Harmony and Capital City Chorus quartet DoubleSTUF entertained viewers in Topeka, Kansas, this morning on WIBW 13 News.


In Wisconsin, The La Crosse Coulee Chordsmen told the audience more about barbershop and serenaded the folks at WXOW.


Mayor Sly James officially declared April 11 "Barbershop Harmony Day" in Kansas City, MO, ringing in the proclamation with a call to "shake your booty" and a performance by the Armchair Chorderbacks.

And finally, mixed quartet The Force from Fostoria High School sang on "GOOD MORNINGS with Chris Oaks" in Findlay, Ohio.
