New Release Roundup: Long-Awaited Classics
Long-awaited new music from Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, and a surprise collaboration from a cappella alumni and Broadway superstars.

There weren’t nearly as many new releases this week, but the quality is through the roof.
Here are this week's FloFaves, including more long-awaited new music from Manhattan Transfer and Take 6 and a surprise collaboration from a cappella alumni and Broadway superstars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Platt.
Lin-Manuel Miranda & Ben Platt
These two are best known for their Broadway smash hits Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen (and Platt, perhaps for his role in "Pitch Perfect"), but did you know both were collegiate a cappella singers ahead of their rise to fame? These two incredible vocalists came together with a mashup of “You Will Be Found” and “The Story of Tonight” to raise money and awareness for this weekend’s March For Life.
Take 6
Not only did the most lauded group in a cappella history drop the tracklist for its upcoming album, "ICONIC," but it also released the first single, “Change The World.” Pre-orders for the full album are now available, but get your ears on the teaser. Immediately.
Manhattan Transfer
We are just ONE week away from Manhattan Transfer’s first new album in a decade. (Pre-order it here.) But those generous jazz singers leaked out one more track to keep your appetite wet. Listen to “The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul” while you check out the full tracklist.
Pentatonix
Another week closer to the new PTX album and another new video for you to enjoy. This week Pentatonix treated us to Charlie Puth’s “Attention,” throwing it back to the group's early days with a panel video and plenty of great features on your favorite trio.
Undivided
Who doesn’t like a fun cover of “Can’t Stop the Feeling”? It’s even better when it’s an arrangement by Ben Bram. This Latin-influenced Miami vocal band released this clip from its tour to Slovenia last year.
Premiere
This quartet from the larger LA-based Contemporary A Cappella League put a modern tech twist on a stripped-down version of Elvis’ “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.”
The Eight Tracks
The official release party is Saturday in Somerville, Massachusetts, but The Eight Tracks’ debut album, "8TRX," is now available for streaming and purchase. This Boston-area Contemporary A Cappella League group brings some classic favorites as well as current chart-toppers.
Gina Deaton
The contemporary a cappella world probably recognizes her name for all of the incredible volunteer work she’s done for CASA. However, did you know this girl could sing? And write? And SING?! After many years of pouring her heart and soul into the project, you can hear "Journey Home" now.
Word on the street is that Patreon fans of Home Free and VoicePlay were treated to new videos this week, so support them now to catch it early. We’ll be back to share the videos after public release.
