The Accidentals

Southwest Christian High School (Chaska, MN)

Quarterfinal Score: 338

Coming in second place at their quarterfinal, The Accidentals clearly came out to win with special awards for Outstanding Soloist by Kendall Winship and Outstanding Arrangement by James Ocenasek. The group is a select ensemble of eight voices chosen from the school’s larger Chamber Singers.

Echo Effect

Niles West High School (Skokie, IL)

Quarterfinal Score: 352

This all-male ensemble won quarterfinals for the second year in a row, and group member Isaiah Lopez repeated as the winner of Outstanding Vocal Percussion. The members of Echo Effect consider themselves more of a rock band than an a cappella group.

Enharmonic Fusion

DeKalb High School (DeKalb, IL)

Quarterfinal Score: 389

In addition to their solid win in front of a hometown crowd, Enharmonic Fusion also took home Outstanding Vocal Percussion for Devonte Merrick’s full performance. The group is a five-time International finalist and is the reigning runner-up.

Graftonics

Grafton High School (Grafton, WI)

Quarterfinal Score: 298

Considered a top high school a cappella ensemble in Wisconsin, this group is 12 members strong and its entire repertoire is arranged by the students themselves. Student arranger Lee Kottke took home Outstanding Arrangement honors for “Happiness.”

Knight Club

Oak Creek High School (Oak Creek, WI)

Quarterfinal Score: 302

This mixed ensemble made its school proud with a second-place finish and award-winning choreography from Lindsay Gleason and Summer Kleepek.

Limited Edition

Port Washington High School (Port Washington, WI)

Quarterfinal Score: 410

One of the longest-running contemporary high school ensembles in the country, this group re-auditions for members every single year. With five previous appearances at ICHSA Finals and a runner-up performance in 2016, Limited Edition is always a contender for top honors.

Sound Proof

Various (Overland Park, KS)

Quarterfinal Score: 341

This ensemble is a collection of talented students from throughout the Kansas City metro area. Sam Wise wowed the judges and the crowd with his vocal percussion and helped the group to a second-place finish at quarterfinals.

Viva Voce

Ladue Horton Watkins High School (St. Louis, MO)

Quarterfinal Score: 382

With a quarterfinal win and an Outstanding Solo from Menea Kefalov, this 15-member all-female ensemble proved that there is room for brand-new talent at the top. The group was founded in just 2016 and is already making waves.

Vocal Harmonies Supplied (VHS)

Urbana High School, Urbana, IL

Quarterfinal Score: 363

A second-place finish with a special award for Outstanding Arrangement for student Anna Lubienski’s version of "Killing Me Softly" sets up this very active group for success.

Vocal Point

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School (Galesville, WI)

Quarterfinal Score: 416

Taking top honors at its quarterfinal, Vocal Point also took home Outstanding Choreography for its full set by student Alanna Peters. The group heads into semifinals with the highest overall quarterfinal score to see if it can return to New York City for another chance at glory at Finals.
