Aca Open Semifinals Begin Today!

Nine of the top a cappella groups in the country are set to compete at the Open Northwest Semifinal in Tacoma, WA, tonight for a bid to the International Championship of A Cappella Open Finals in New York City on September 23.

The International Championship of A Cappella Open is Varsity Vocals' first competition without any age, experience, or origin restrictions. Competitors are encouraged to assemble their "dream teams" and perform at one of six semifinals held around the U.S. The top scoring group at each regional not only advances to sing at Carnegie Hall later this year but also has a chance to win a cash prize of $25,000.

Tonight's Open Northwest Semifinal gets started at 7 PDT at Tacoma's Rialto Theater and features a lineup of groups hailing from four U.S. states and Canada.
