Christian Music Hall of Fame group Acappella has sold well over 3 million units and toured every continent on the globe since songwriter, producer, and original lead singer Keith Lancaster formed the group in 1982. Earlier this month, Acappella's original lineup got back together for a 35th anniversary concert in Amarillo, Texas, and played a nearly 3 1/2-hour show for fans.

The group was originally called His Image Quartet for a brief period and started performing only four months after its inception before embracing the name "Acappella".

After releasing the landmark album Sweet Fellowship, Acappella signed with Word Records (later Epic Records), and saw their popularity soar with such releases as RescueWe Have Seen His Glory, and Set Me Free.

In 2015, a stage show was mounted for the New York Musical Theatre Festival called "A Cappella: The Musical," incorporating the music of Acappella and  Lancaster.

The musical can be seen at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta on May 15.

More to come on that production soon!
