Louisville Baseball enters the 2026 season with several impact players drawing attention as pro prospects while the team prepares for a challenging weekend at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas.

The Cardinals (2-2) are coming off a 23-11 win over Xavier in which they totaled 23 hits and 36 baserunners. Alex Alicea and Tague Davis had four hits apiece, and eight players recorded multiple hits in the offensive outburst.

On the mound, senior left-hander Wyatt Danilowicz earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors after striking out nine in six shutout innings against Michigan State.

Davis is consider one of the top prospects in next year's draft, but the Cardinals also boast a pair of outfielders expected to go in the top 50 of the draft this summer.

Zion Rose, OF, Louisville Baseball

Zion Rose, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound outfielder at Louisville, began his career as a catcher at IMG Academy before shifting primarily to the outfield. A physical right-handed hitter, Rose combines quick hands and strong bat-to-ball skills with pull-side power. 

Over two seasons, he has hit .337/.419/.565 with 18 home runs and 25 doubles. He profiles as a corner outfielder, though some clubs could explore a return behind the plate.

Lucas Moore, OF, Louisville Baseball

Lucas Moore, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound center fielder at Louisville, brings elite speed and advanced contact skills. Over two seasons, he has hit .335/.431/.444 with 16 doubles and 70 stolen bases, including a Division I-best 53 steals in 54 attempts in 2025. 

A 70-grade runner, Moore creates constant pressure on the bases and profiles as a true center fielder with Team USA experience.

2027 MLB Draft Prospects For Louisville Baseball

Tague Davis, 1B, Louisville Baseball

Tague Davis, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound first baseman at Louisville, emerged as a middle-of-the-order force in 2025. He's not eligible for the 2026 draft, but is consider a top 30 college prospect in next year's draft. 

He hit .283/.390/.571 with nine doubles, a team-best 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. Davis boasts plus raw power, particularly to the pull side, with multiple exit velocities topping 115 mph. While there are swing-and-miss concerns, he profiles as a power-first bat capable of changing games with one swing.
