'Black Sheep' Win AAVF Choral Competition
As a 23-member group whose name translates to "black sheep" in Finnish, Musta Lammas had no trouble standing out at the 2017 Aarhus Vocal Festival's choir competition in Aarhus, Denmark, on Sunday.
As a 23-member group whose name translates to "black sheep" in Finnish, Musta Lammas had no trouble standing out at the 2017 Aarhus Vocal Festival's choir competition in Aarhus, Denmark, on Sunday. The Helsinki choir won the competition in the first-ever appearance by a group from Finland, finishing ahead of runner-up Syng Selected from Denmark and third-place Dekoor Close Harmony from The Netherlands.
Soprano Sonja Ebe wrote the Musta Lammas' song "Eye" as well as "Ling." The group's founder and leader, Ida Olsonen, also received a special award.
