Audition season gets closer every day, and we thought it prudent to bring you:

10 Audition Tips That Will Totally, Definitely, Without A Doubt, Probably Get You In The Group Of Your Dreams. For Realz. But Probably Not.


10. Choose your audition song wisely.

Pick something that shows off your voice with a tune that the group probably won't have done or heard. That way it won't have any preconceived notions about your solo!

Suggestions: "Fix You" (Coldplay), "Chandelier" (Sia), and really anything by Ed Sheeran or Sara B.


9. Make sure to use the "aca" prefix as much as possible in all your interactions and communications with the group(s).

8. Audition for multiple groups on campus.

Make sure to tell them you won't know which group you would choose if you get multiple offers.

Keep them guessing. It shows you are in demand and confident!


7. Warmups are important.


Use the first five minutes of your audition to go through all the scales and warmups you know. It lets the group that you understand and care about vocal health.


6. Fully choreograph your entire audition presentation.


Show the group that you can stay in "Formation."


5. If you don't have perfect or relative pitch, it is essential that you pretend like you do.
