Face: The First Vocal Band To Headline Red Rocks

Red Rocks is one of the most famous concert venues in the world, and playing at the legendary amphitheater in Morrison, CO, is on every band's wishlist.

As a group founded in nearby Boulder, the Face Vocal Band were no exception when they made their Red Rocks debut for a packed house on August 6.

Most of the band's five members grew up going to concerts at the iconic venue, thinking "maybe someday." Not only did their dream come true, but they also became the first vocal group to headline at Red Rocks in the process.

"We are so blessed to have been able to build our band to the point where we get this opportunity of a lifetime," Face told FloVoice. "We've been trying for years to find a way to play on that stage, and we finally realized we just needed to take a leap of faith -- rent the venue ourselves and produce an amazing show all on our own."

We filled the Red Rocks Amphitheatre with such a genuinely enthusiastic, supportive, and fantastic crowd.

Face released their new album "Big Time" (produced almost exclusively in-house) the night of the show and debuted their new music video on the venue's big screen.

Over the years, Face has visited over 50 local schools to teach and inspire music students and held concerts to raise money for their music programs.

For the Red Rocks concert, the band decided that $5 of every ticket sold would go to a fund supplying grants to music education programs in Colorado schools.

The grants will be made available through the Colorado State Department of Education in the 2017-18 school year.

So far, they have raised over $30,000!

Two online competitions -- a choir challenge and a local band challenge -- were held to find more local artists to join Face on stage.

The choirs were all selected from audition videos to ultimately build a mass choir of over 200 singers from 14 different local choirs that sang with Face for a few songs!
