Accent Is Back With All-New Original Music!
Accent is a more than just a group of stellar musicians who hail from all over the world. They're different from most groups in that they're technically not based in any one place and only assemble for special occasions.

Accent will be the first to tell you that "nothing says 'harmony' like coming together across international borders." In fact, it's central part of their core mission statement.

Accent went live across multiple social media platforms for a Q & A as their new album was released.

Their sophomore album is comprised of completely original music and is entitled "In This Together."

Rooted with a heavy jazz influence, Accent is upholding its vocal jazz legacy while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of harmony, rhythm, and performance.

"Just Wondering" - The First Single From Accent's New Album

"Even though we've been creating music together for several years", Accent told FloVoice. "This is amazingly the first time we've ever recorded together. All of our previous projects have been multitracked, at a distance (since that's pretty much the concept behind the group to begin with).

"The difference is really palpable -- the energy, performance and overall human quality to the music come across in the recording and that makes us really excited. Also, there are no covers on the album, so we're making a bold move in the a cappella sphere."

Accent only rehearses when they're together, and that usually means a run-up of 24 to 48 hours before a gig. They practice like crazy on their own using scores and learning tracks, so by the time they get together, they're really just polishing and getting everything performance-ready.

Of course, this is not the way we would design a group in a vacuum. We'd rather rehearse every day.

"As far as the videos go, we teach on these topics in our workshops and masterclasses," the group said. "Since people seem to love online tutorials, we thought it would be interesting to try repackaging some of the content for short videos. There will definitely be more, and ideas are welcome!

"This is the kind of stuff we talk about as a group all day, every day, pretty much. We enjoy analyzing our influences, transcribing them and really understanding what makes them tick.

Transcribing and analyzing are your best teachers, and incredibly important tools for composers and arrangers.
