'June' Releases New Video
Spawned by director extraordinaire JD Frizzell, the vocal band June has just released their first two videos.

June was born out of Briarcrest High School's OneVoice, a group also directed by Frizzell, in Memphis, TN. Six out of June's eight members are currently in college.

"There's the added bonus of having taught them for a very long time," Frizzell told FloVoice. "I knew what I was getting in terms of musicianship and skill because I was a part of the development of both.

"Everyone in the group wants to perform for a living. We felt like there was no point in NOT getting together and giving this a shot."

The arrangements are written by the members of the group, so they are designed specifically for each individual singer.

"Our hope is that each time you listen to one of our charts," Frizzell said. "You'll hear something new. Another thing that makes us different is that we're not trying to be an 'a cappella group.'

"By that, I mean we are consciously trying to avoid commonly used arrangement devices. We're also not branding ourselves as an a cappella group to appeal to a more mainstream fan base."

Arranged by Austin McElveen, produced by Nathan Armstrong of 901 Music and The Vocal Company, mastered by Vocal Mastering. The soloist is Olivia Gray.

"There's already synergy both musically and relationally. We met for five total days starting with nothing and ended up doing a 30 minute concert and shot four videos.  Everything with this group seems to be very organic and natural."

We have a lot of ideas up our sleeves-- you'll have to follow us to see what's next!
