After three weeks of intensive learning about songwriting, vocal technique, and production, the students of the Nvak Foundation were ready for their final performance on Friday.

The only issue was, the weather did not agree.

It doesn't rain often in Yerevan, Armenia, but apparently Mother Nature decided to open the flood gates immediately after the soundcheck at the Moscow Cinema's 500-seat open air amphitheater. The theatre was supposed to receive its grand reopening with a night of original music written by the Nvak family.

While the higher-ups were deciding on a change of venue, the students from Nvak decided to give the audience a taste of what was to come:

After that rain had fallen and a few hasty venue changes, the show was ready to begin.

Here are some highlights from the 2017 Nvak Showcase:

"I'm in Love" by Lilit Hovakimian

"Heartless" written by Elen Petrosya and performed by Anna Mejlumian
