7th Ave Takes Bruno Mars 'Doo Wop'
7th Ave Takes Bruno Mars 'Doo Wop'
7th Ave has a new lineup and a new sound!

Since leaving a cappella powerhouse Home Free last year to launch his solo career, Chris Rupp has embarked on a ton of various projects, one of which is his new supergroup, 7th Ave!
7th Ave consists of Chris and his sister Tristin, as well as their good friend Adam Bastien. Pitch Perfect's Kelley Jakle started the group with them as well, but has recently announced her need to pull back from the group due to her tv and film commitments.
Since her departure, the group started collaborating with various artists, allowing experimentation and growth using new talent and different styles. Their most recent video, an a cappella cover of Bruno Mar's Straight Up and Down, exemplifies that new approach.
7th Ave dives back in a cappella with guest artists superbass Elliott Robinson and newcomer Jarrod Scott.
"7th Ave likes to explore a lot of different styles, from pop to swing to country, including my first love, a cappella. Elliott was a former member of Home Free as well and I've always loved working with him. Jarrod actually subbed in for us on our recent European tour because Adam had a prior commitment," says Chris Rupp.
While 7th Ave spends most of their energy focusing on creating content, they are gearing up for a minor tour run in the Midwest in the fall, as well as Australia and Europe again next spring. Chris also has another solo project video release planned for later this week, also featuring Robinson.

After we finished that run, we were marveling over Bruno's latest album and knew we wanted to do a cover with Jarrod. This song just screamed retro a cappella doo wop to me, mixed with some Marvin Gaye sexiness, so we brought Elliott on as well and couldn't be happier with the result!
