BHS Inducts 3 Greats to Hall of Fame

Connelly.

DeRosa.

Waurick.

Spend 5 minutes in the barbershop community and it is a near guarantee that you'll hear these names. And now, they will be forever honored for their legendary contributions to the Barbershop Harmony Society in the Hall of Fame.

Joe Connelly and Tony DeRosa have spent 40 plus years ringing chords and collecting medals. Both men have four quartet international gold medals, including two they won together with Keepsake in 1992 and Platinum in 2000. Connelly also won with Interstate Rivals in 1987 and Old School in 2011. DeRosa went on to win with Max Q in 2007 and Main Street in 2017.

Connelly has served in a myriad of capacities, including coach, judge, and director, touching the lives of thousands of singers over the course of his career. DeRosa also goes beyond the quartet stage as the director of several top choruses. Outside of barbershop, DeRosa also directs the Dapper Dans for Disney, bringing barbershop right to the heart of America. Plus, DeRosa currently stands as the youngest ever gold medalist. He took home gold with Keepsake at just 19 years old.

Tim Waurick may only have but one quartet gold to his name, but the name is a big one: Vocal Spectrum. Waurick's tenor gymnastic and lungs of steel are appreciated and envied by all. Waurick is also one of the most prolific learning track producers, changing the game for how barbershoppers learn.

And while they've secured their spots as legends, something tells me this is the last we've heard from any of them. And in the meantime, we'll wait, mostly patiently, to see what they come up with next.
