#FlashbackFriday: The Bobs' Lifetime Achievement CARA & Farewell Tour
This week's #FlashbackFriday brings you The Bobs, announcing their farewell tour fresh off their Lifetime Achievement Award presentation at the 2017 CARAs at Boston Sings Festival.
Each year, the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards are presented at the Boston Sings A Cappella Festival with an award ceremony complete with a black-tie red carpet. For those who don't know, the CARAs are the Grammys of vocal music.
After winning the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's CARAs,
The Bobs announced that this tour would be their final one.
"We've decided to stop touring and concentrate on our various individual efforts in music," singer Richard "Bob" Greene wrote on The Bobs' website. "But first, there will be a year or so of 'farewell' concerts.
"After Christmas this year, we'll do two shows at the Triple Door in Seattle and a show in Gig Harbor at Morso. We're looking at dates in the Bay Area, the D.C. area, Chicago, and the Northeast. We do have a concert booked for next September in North Carolina. "

Psycho Killer (1987)
Why now? You might ask. It's mostly because of location and logistics. The current lineup will be spread across the U.S. as of next spring; Matthew in Seattle, Dan in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Angie in San Francisco, and Richard in Virginia. Even the Bobs might need to rehearse occasionally... That said, as dates get booked, we'll be sure to let all of y'all know about our upcoming schedule.
Helter Skelter (1998) - Nominated for a Grammy in 1984
It's been a 35-year enjoyable and successful run with The Bobs, thousands of live shows, hundreds of original songs, and some 16 albums recorded. My thanks and appreciation to all the members of the various iterations of the group: Gunnar, Matthew, Janie, Joe, Lori, Amy, Dan, and Angie. My enormous thanks also to all the folks who have come to our concerts and purchased our recorded music.

The Bobs were the inspiration for the start of my weekly show back in 1995, and Bobs' tracks have opened and closed nearly every show ever since.
